Questions we get asked

What should a pre-owned instrument listing show?: The listing should identify the exact item, show the whole instrument and material wear, describe condition and playability, disclose known repairs or modifications, and state what case, documents or accessories are included.
How is condition recorded?: Condition should be selected from a defined scale and supported by item-specific notes and photographs. Cosmetic wear, faults, odour, repairs and anything affecting use or value should be described rather than hidden in a grade.
Is an enquiry a reservation?: No. A question, offer or trade-in request does not reserve a one-of-one item. It is held for you only once we confirm a hold or you complete the purchase online.
How are identifiers handled?: We record the maker, model and genuine identifiers where we have them, and never guess. We may keep a full serial number private and show only enough to tell the instrument apart.
